Pre-market/Post-market trading, also known as extended trading hours, refers to the time when investors can place trading orders before or after the regular trading hours of the US stock market. Broadly speaking, both pre-market and post-market trading belong to the extended trading sessions outside normal opening hours. Trading before the market opens is called pre-market, while trading after the market closes is called post-market.

All clients who can trade US stocks are eligible to place orders during the Pre-market/Post-market trading sessions, provided they confirm the order details and acknowledge the "Extended Hours Trading Risk Disclosure Statement" when submitting the order.

When placing an order on the PHILLIP HK APP, select "Limit Order [Extended & Regular Hours]" under the order type. Currently, this option is only available on the PHILLIP HK APP and not on other trading platforms. However, you can still view or cancel existing pending orders across all PHILLIP HK APP platforms.

The text "Order allowed to be executed during pre-market/post-market and regular sessions" will be displayed in the "Trade Information" section.

Phillip does not currently provide Pre-market/Post-market price quotes.

Trades are matched through Electronic Communication Networks (ECNs).

During the Pre-market/Post-market trading sessions, you can trade via the POEMS HK APP by navigating to Global Stocks > Trade > Select the "US" market.

The fees are identical to those during regular US trading hours. You can also enjoy the latest US stock promotions during the Pre-market/Post-market trading sessions.

Unexecuted pre-market orders will be carried over to the post-market trading session as pending orders. Any remaining unexecuted orders will be cancelled at the end of the post-market session that day.
Similarly, any unexecuted orders submitted during the post-market session will be cancelled when the post-market session closes.

This is because no trades have occurred for those stocks during the pre-market/post-market sessions.

Currently, there is no function to modify Pre-market/Post-market orders. You can only cancel an existing Pre-market/Post-market order and submit a new one.
